Do you know which wild plants you can safely eat?
Do you know which plants you can use to treat a medical condition?
DO you know how to skin a rabbit?
How to store food and water long term?
I have a few books I recommend that you buy. Remember the internet may not be available in an emergency but a book in your hand can always be read.
The books are:
1.A field guide to edible plants
by Lee Allen Peterson
Roger Troy Peterson
2. Medicinal plants and herbs
Steven Foster
James A. Duke
3. The joy of cooking
Pre 1982 edition
4. Household discoveries and Mrs. Curtis's cookbook
Published in 1904. Out of print but can be found
on Amazon.com or eBay
The key is to learn how to survive without modern conveniences just like our ancestors did.

I also have a book I would like to recommend ... The Encyclopedia of Country Living by Carla Emery. It's really a wealth of knowledge, as well as a fun book to read! The description on the cover says "Practical advice, invaluable information, and collected wisdom for folks and farmers in the country, city, and anywhere in between. Includes how to cultivate a garden, buy land, bake bread, raise farm animals, make sausage, can peaches, milk a goat, grow herbs, churn butter, build a chicken coop, catch a pig, cook on a wood stove, and much, much more!"
